With all due respect, the majority of people offering ‘commercial’ shoots as part of their photographic services package, have absolutely no idea what the average commercial user wants as they’ve never actually set one up. Commercial shoots and product photography require a completely different approach to taking properly balanced images and also require some very different facilities to basic run-of-the-mill ‘High Street’ photography. Just for the record, ‘Photoshopping’ poor images is simply not an option.
For many years MDO Studio have been taking ‘commercial pictures’, mainly for use in national magazines and catalogues you find in every W. H. Smith outlet. For starters, here is a random handful of images we’ve taken in past years, all of which have subsequently appeared in published magazines:
